Another convention in the books! Andy Bunn, Robert Walters, and I attended the Oklahoma Bankers Association Annual Convention last week. We attended two years ago and planned to attend in 2020 before COVID canceled in-person events. It was great to be back with the bankers after so long!
Another convention in the books! Andy Bunn, Robert Walters, and I attended the Oklahoma Bankers Association Annual Convention a couple weeks ago. We attended two years ago and planned to attend in 2020 before COVID canceled in-person events. It was great to be back with the bankers after so long!
The week started with a golf tournament. Andy and Robert played while I manned our sponsored golf hole. As each team came to hole #10, I gave them drinks, divot tools, koozies, hats, and more; played some cornhole; and chatted about what JMARK can do for their bank! The weather was less than ideal and unfortunately a gust of wind sent our tent flying into the parking lot. At least it makes for a funny story!
The conference was awesome. We saw some familiar faces and a bunch of new ones. The theme of the event was “Where Everybody Knows Your Name.” In the spirit of Cheers, we went with the “Does Your IT Make You Want to Drink?” theme and it was definitely a hit. We got a lot of, “Ha, YES!” responses, which opened the door to some great conversations about the services JMARK provides and the way we go about business to make sure we have a true, mutually beneficial partnership with our clients. We made some great connections and Andy and Rob have follow up calls scheduled to discuss further.
It’s easy to have real conversations about how we can truly help a bank achieve their goals and get to the next level because of the foundation that JMARK is built on. I can’t express enough how much our CEO Tom emphasizes helping small-to-medium businesses. That is the entire point of what we do. If he has a conversation with a prospect and doesn’t think we can help them or we aren’t the best fit, he is the first to let them know. We partner with like-minded businesses that have a similar culture to ours, where we all know that there is mutual benefit, and everyone wins.
Knowing all of that makes my conversations at tradeshows extremely easy! I know that I can mean what I say. It’s not just a bunch of buzz words that sound good. It’s who we are. And it’s always a good time to be able to share that with new people.
I’m looking forward to our next tradeshow! Missouri bankers are up next!
