Agility & Cybersecurity: Your Business Doesn’t Have to Sacrifice Safety for Performance

In this presentation, Mr. Malik will address the synergies between agility and cybersecurity. Noting the balance required between business agility and stability, he will show you why it is wise to choose agility when it will improve overall business performance. Agility challenges the processes, training, and operations of cybersecurity as well as the tools, but being agile does not mean sacrificing good “cyber hygiene”—information security, data privacy, risk management, and responsiveness.

Mr. Malik will demonstrate how agile deployment supports DevOps and brings new business opportunities into reach. Smart buildings will integrate into smart cities, smart cars contribute to intelligent transport systems, and smart appliances enrich smart homes and the lives of our citizens, but only in a context of trust and confidence in the security and safety of those processes and that information. With each advance in technology, we increase our attack surface unless we design security, safety, privacy, and trustworthiness into the infrastructure itself. That means security by design.

Following this session, attendees will:

  • Recognize the form that business agility takes as it applies to I.T. and Information Security.
  • See how their information architecture can support responsive, resilient, compliant privacy and security.
  • Understand how DevSecOps and I.T./O.T. convergence stress traditional business process, and how to enhance those processes.
  • Have the basic tools to build an effective, agile, cybersecure organization.
